Role Overview
Lead direct-from-farm and APMC mandi sourcing of export-grade raw spices (Cumin, Coriander, Fennel, Mustard, Fenugreek, Turmeric) and raw onions/garlic across Gujarat and Rajasthan. Manage contract farming partnerships, supplier networks, and purchase quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage direct relationships with farmer producer organizations (FPOs) and APMC mandi traders
- Monitor seasonal crop arrivals, market price trends, and weather patterns to execute strategic bulk procurement
- Inspect raw material quality on-site before lot purchase to prevent pesticide or moisture non-conformances
- Negotiate competitive purchase rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Oversee raw material intake at the Rajkot warehouse
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Agriculture / Agribusiness Management or substantial ground trade experience
- 4+ years sourcing spices, oilseeds, or dehydrated crops in Saurashtra and Western India
- Deep knowledge of regional APMC mandis (Gondal, Unjha, Rajkot, Amreli, Mahuva)
- Fluency in Gujarati and Hindi
